About Us
Welcome to The Alliance Française d’Auckland
In the early 1980s, the Auckland French Circle became the Alliance Française d’Auckland.
What is The Alliance Française?
This is a non-profit network of associations whose goal is to promote French language and culture. The first Alliance was founded in 1883 in Paris.
The Alliance Française d’Auckland is one of the 1200 official associations promoting French language and culture throughout the world. With over 900 members, we are one of the largest and oldest French associations in Auckland.
There is no need to be fluent in French to be a member of our Alliance and enjoy our activities as most of our events are bilingual.
Opening hours:
- Monday to Thursday: From 10.00am to 6.00pm
- Friday: From 10.00am to 5.00pm
- Saturday (library only – office closed): 10.00am to midday.
We are located very close to the city centre (5 minutes drive), at 9A Kirk Street, Grey Lynn.
