Adult Course Descriptions

We have 5 to 15 people maximum in a class. All the classes are held at the Alliance, 9 Kirk Street, Grey Lynn.

Term 1, 2012 will be starting February 7th.

ADULT REGULAR CLASSES INFORMATION:

We are now offering students the opportunity to progress their studies at different rates, according to their needs and availability.

If you would like to take a less intensive, more relaxed approach which will enable you to make steady progress, our regular extended program (REP or Snail Trail) may suit your needs. You attend one 2-hour class a week and receive 20 hours tuition in a ten week term.

If, however, you would like to make more rapid progress and you are prepared to devote more time to learning French, our very intensive program (VIP or Frog Hop) allows you to progress twice as fast.  You attend two 2-hour classes a week and receive 40 hours tuition in a ten week term.

In both cases, your progress is measured and you receive regular feedback so you know how well you are progressing. Your learning is measured against the levels of French language competency set by the DELF and DALF official qualifications awarded by the French Ministry of Education. We can prepare you to take these examinations, which are recognised internationally.

For convenience, we have summarised the levels of competency you can expect to achieve from attending both REP and VIP classes from beginners’ upwards as coloured belts from green to brown in the chart below.

Do I need to have my level assessed ?

If you have never learned French in the past, then you are a New beginner, and you don’t need any assessment.

If you did learn a bit of French then do our online assessment.

How do I enrol?

Go through our course description and our term 1, 2012 planning and decide which level you would like to enrol for. Do not forget to assess your level if you are not sure!

Then, simply complete our enrolment form or pop in to our premises at 9A Kirk Street Grey Lynn.
